Fitness Center at Mayport Naval Air Station, LEED Gold certified
Zyscovich Architects
A retrofit project with emphasis on enhancing quality of life for sailors and their families in this newly designed fitness center, which tripled the space of the former facility. One of the important criteria was to improve the quality of natural light in the main spaces.
My role was to build daylight models (prototypes) during design phase and recommend glazing sizes and options to maximize views, yet limit glare.
Zero Energy Housing

AutoCAD, 3Dmax, Excel spreadsheets to calculate energy performance
Zero Energy multi-family townhomes consisting of four attached living units that were tested throughout the design phase for their energy performance. I worked on team of three to achieve net zero energy goal i.e. generating renewable energy on site approximately equal to the total amount of energy used by that building on an annual basis. The ideal way to achieve that goal was to minimize energy consumption to its lowest through systematic design and enhance the quality of living of the occupant.
